Probably for our hearts and, you know, our bodies that you headed down to VB for a show thought you'd be back by about 10:30 and then other things happen and you get caught because I think If this had been 24 hours ago, I think we probably would have ran it for probably two hours. You're probably going to get a slightly more well-known and thought out, break down here. You may not quite get the fire and brimstone that. You would have died last night, but we're still plenty angry, and you're going to see that come out here, ladies and gentlemen.

And if you know I'm having some water because we got to go to work tomorrow, you know, still haven't won. But you know you're having one. Nah nah. I'm good tonight. I'm good tonight when last night didn't happen to probably the best thing for my body. I would have to sleep at a normal hour, got a good amount of sleep, you know, and compared to a normal Saturday where we would have talked ranted, watch some late night football but we So, usually one am before we normally cash it in guys, only after Saturday rant.

The loss 2721 to West Virginia, we got a lot to own pack a lot and it's it's primarily towards one side of the ball but we're not going to let the defense off the hook they had their moments especially in the first half. But Brian, we sit here tonight, man. And we just got straight up say it. It this game was the story of three drives re drives inside the 10-yard line, 9 + plays. 0 points:0 absolutely atrocious, red zone offense for really the entire game.

3:00 But in particular, I mean those three drives were absolutely mind-numbing and let's start with the first one. So you have, you know, we thought we Yeah, just before the half, this is after Braxton, Burmeister has an amazing scramble gets outside breaks the tackle dies for the first down. Yep. And here's where things get get hazy. So first down, we know what happened we watched it. It should have been a touchdown that the the back judge called it a touchdown then they got together. They said no incomplete.

I have no idea what they were looking at every angle. I saw the ball. Never touches, hold on. This is why they did what they did. Just looking at it yesterday. All right. If that was ruled a touchdown, whatever way they called it on, the field was not going to be overturned. and because of the darkness of trays tadion Robinson's gloves in the darkness of the ugly West Virginia in zone and the way that ball came up When they called it incomplete, they had the mindset of it. Hit the ground, that's why it popped up. That had to be their mindset, right? That had it had to be with a man vs. Bear.

It's a lot different ball game in the second half. Who knows how it turns out maybe we're not as a angry right now but we are, but that's what it was. Yep. So the review took, it felt like ten minutes. It literally felt like 10 minutes. Like, you know, what do we do here? What do we do? What do we do? What do we do? And then they come back, call stands, no touchdown, and then Neal Brown, which I have an affinity for not liking him, a liked him when he was at Troy. You like a guy less?

Maybe then we had another and another three or four minutes lost on the three timeouts. Then we finally lineup fucking false start. We're on the right hash which for whatever reason John Parker Romo, struggles from him, right house, especially close up, you cannot hit him close and at my thought is he is a draw kicker and he's aiming just on the outside of the pole expecting to draw back. But let's be honest though, with that Braxton bird might have saved that drive a 26 yard scramble. Third and 24, he doesn't do that. There's there's literally no pulse. We probably go for it on like third and 20, we run fourth and 20. Run like a draw, you know, that's the way things seem to be shaping up nowadays, so he saves us. We get it in, like you mentioned, literally with one second left on the clock and maybe a little hope, but you're still sitting here like, okay, that's great, but it's 1/4. We really haven't done much all day. Are we really going to get two?

And when James, when James Mitchell, when they do this, this Jet Sweep to the short side, what they usually have is James Mitchell in there, which means that the strength of the defense is away from where the play is going.

There were two players that were not even accounted for in the blocking scheme on that side of the defense and it got absolutely blown the fuck up. My biggest issue with that. Brian is when Trey went set, it was still like that, they didn't move anyone. Let's go usually it's a check right? It's a check from you. What you would think you would think so yeah it's like nah we're gonna go we're gonna go right at them and you're sitting here and saying like you said you start counting players. Fucking plan to give the end zone. So lets you know the up and get calls are what they are. Right? Well I'm not long after the game ended just to get his feelings on it and in the first thing you said, was why in the world? Are you deciding on the last play? As of the game to cut half the field, like you were living like, I'll get it, like, can't understand that. So, it was, so infuriating to me, it's essentially saying, we don't, it's saying two things saying, we don't trust, our offensive line to give Braxton two and a half seconds to get a read and make a throw.

18:10 That's that to me is unacceptable at some point. You got to trust your players to go out there and make a play. They've done it in this game. They fought and clawed and got back into this game. Do not trust the players to make a play. Trust them and give them an opportunity to make that play. Don't cut them off at the knees before the ball is even snapped, and that's what they did with those calls. They cut they cut half the field off and they said all right well it's an attempt to flood the Zone but there's so many damn Defenders already in the zone.

If he drops back he has an opportunity to take off and run. Yep. He doesn't have that with the a sprint out that they see coming from a fucking mile away. In the other issue on that is, you're also taking whoever's on the left side of the field and you're running backs and the tight ends at least one of the tight ends in that they're going to be out of the play. So whoever's over, whoever's on the left side of the field because we sprinted, right? Is out. Yep. Whoever's the running back is is completely out. So you are taking two weapons off completely. It essentially, you're making it a three on five game and you didn't leak any one to the back side. Side of that play.

The tight ends involved is that we showed that Sprint action, and then we have either a drag going back across, or we have a tight end leaking out on the back side of the block. Yep. And we did none of that we've ever done of that. We're Malik like the yes year. He scored a couple on those linkages. He just he down block and eventually the Whoever he was blocking would like get off and just attack the ball and he would just take like three steps and it was just a easy touchdown and that would have been a perfect call on third down because if you actually had that because you still had plenty of time to get back up to the line and get a call in there. Again short side box loaded, they eat it alive and I sit here in it's the same things his errors from five years ago. And subsequent years are continuously the same errors over and over and over again. And that makes me mad because I sit here is a novice at football and can say you can't continue to do that. Yeah, I mean when I look at it it feels like situationally and we talked about this before situationally it's like he talks himself out of good decisions. It is absolutely infuriating.

I've just I like I said, I feel bad for the, for the offensive players because they really went out there and they played their ass off, especially in the second half. Well enough to start this game and then key moments in the second half. We're just we're just killer. They were killer.

And when you have three like that you've got to get at least two of those three, at least two because you had them reeling. They were reeling on those last two drives you can say the one before, the half was a screw up. Those last two, they were reeling and if you don't write play on that first thing, V a touchdown be cut, but instead you call a, he called plays that let them regain their footing, get their breath, get their thought process back if he's and I had no in on the, on the drive to in the game. I had no problem with the first down, run call because you want to get a little bit more clock. Yeah, I want to take a little bit more clock offset first down.

I did like them going back to the well really running essentially the same play again, and then back-to-back Sprint out. Same plate. You ran the same place both times. There's nothing else that you can come up with to potentially get it in the end zone and win a game. Yep. Like I said, I just, I really don't like taking away that much of the feel in again, a key moment. You know, there are strategic At times where you call the Sprint out, I just don't feel like that is where I hated on on key Downs.

If it's to the point where, you know, we feel good about the design, we feel good about what we're doing. But, you know, he has these areas where he needs to work on its been 5 years.

You're making four point seven million dollars a year, he's making right at half a million dollars a year. And what we're seeing is a program, especially the last three years is a average product. We're not used to that the here in a four-year run where Frank was average people that love Frank said, it's time to go. We don't want an average product, and you're giving us an average product and you're not doing anything about it. You were hired to bring the product back to where it was in the late 90s and the entire decade of the 2000s and weave. One time in that the entire tenure reach that level in, a lot of that was with holdover players from the Beamer era. Yep, at some point, we got to stop losing games like this, that we have no business losing, its really frustrating at this point.

28:24 Because as you said, if the problem is everything, then you need to fire him. And if the problem is the play calling, then you need to do, either take over responsibilities or hire yourself. A co-coordinator that is just going to call the plays or hire somebody on staff, give Adam like Tim Burger Shop. But you got it, you got it. You can't do the same thing over and over and expect different results, and that's what we're getting. We're getting different results in the thing is, what his, what his go back to his. Well, he's had like some of the best offensive seasons in Virginia Tech History. You talked about just a poor job up front getting push. We look in that first quarter. We looked lackadaisical tell us it looked like it was the first road game they had ever played in their careers. It's not even that Braun. You can have nerves. Usually you see nervous, energy. Somebody makes a dumb play but you see people hyped up right now? If we look we didn't want hyped up and again that goes back to for Wednesday.

Why can't we get push? It's just like in the thing is With The Wind that we've seen that happen numerous times, we've seen them come out very, very lackadaisical, especially on the offensive side. Takes a quarter and a half two quarters to really find their footing. And I'm going to talk about another thing, we're talking a little bit about the offensive line. I know that we've had some trouble, we had an injury in this game. We are still working progress on the right. Side.

31:29 But the big problem I have is on drop backs. On Third and long. We are still pulling the damn guard to the back side of the formation in pass Pro. Get that shit out of the past Pro scheme. Get it out of there. I don't want to see it and if I gave up his only gave up two sacks on that and there was about to other quarterback hurries where Braxton's running for his life because of that damn scheme. I mean, this this isn't the season well-oiled machine of an offensive line that we were last year.

Someone we chat with off and on and it was this if the head ball coach really wants this job, he has to make the hard choices he does, and it's either take the plague. Call in to use away from it, which we spoke of, or you have to let him go. The head coach can take over the play calling, and show the passion to stay or he goes down with the ship. So to me if Justin Fuente really wants this job that, presser tomorrow morning, we're better here. Changes.

Like we can't manufacture big plays anymore in this offense, you know, we missed the Home Run threat that was too little Herbert last year. And without the without those big plays and without the ability to really drive the football down the field, consistently, you know, We look very, very much, an average offense to a below-average offense. And I'm, you know, you referenced Beamer auto garage there. I'm going to go ahead and reference the quote that Andy, bitter, put out there on Twitter saying it was a weird game because we had really no business winning the game. But we also have no business losing the game. It was it was a conundrum there, right? Yeah.

How do you lose that? And I'm going to say something about Braxton Burmeister here. And this I'm not this is not a knock, this is just stating the facts here. Okay? So right now the abilities of Braxton Burmeister especially in the passing game and driving the football down the field, it's limiting the offense, but at the same time, the skills that Braxton Burmeister brings to the table with his ability to escape and generate yards when nothing's there. Yeah. Is also the reason that the offense has had success what?

35:14 So we're in a conundrum where he's generating offense that isn't there but he's also not taking advantage of the potential offense that is there. Yeah. And that's positive because how many, how many college teams would kill for a guy that can keep plays alive with their feet? And if needed if needed Scramble for 5 to 25 yards at a time, I would say about half the teams in the country would kill for that and we have it but we don't have the offensive staff to you know bring it out. Yep. Why not spread it out?

We do our own things really.

36:49 The other piece Caleb Smith yesterday, 70-plus yards receiving and it was one of those things in that as you're watching us, like, okay, where are these routes just in the normal. In the normal offense, they weren't, why do we, why do we have to be incomplete catch-up mode for this to come out? Like he looked like a decent, stick mover, which is what we all thought he was going to be what we need last year when he was getting some snaps in the early part of the season last year. Like okay, well he's going to come in, he's going to be the stick mover, you know, he's got good hands, good body and he's out there and he ended up you know he had a he had a good game. Assistant when targeted brings the ball in when targeted. But we for some reason in the passing game we just don't get the ball to our Playmakers consistently. Well, the Central Asian Games.
